I am a musician by training as I spent two years at Western for piano performance, but didn't think it was a good fit for me as a career. I switched into the health and fitness program at Humber College. Sport wise, I grew up playing both house league and competitive rep soccer. In my latter training years, you might say I combined a bodybuilding method with a football athlete regimen to my own personal training. I have competed twice in the bench press competition at the Acts gym in Orangeville, winning first place in the heavy lifts. My future goals are to continue being the best I can be by staying on top of the latest supplement and training principles, and maybe competing in a few bodybuilding shows. My advice to beginners is to learn all you can about diet and training, and be sure to practice strict form right from the beginning when it comes to weights. A good diet, strong training, and proper supplementation can certainly make a huge difference in your personal health and fitness related goals.
Popeye's® has been a very important pillar in my education in this field. I began working at both Popeye's® Orangeville and Newmarket in September of 08'. My knowledge has grown by leaps and bounds working with staff, communicating with the industry experts, and just rubbing shoulders with the knowledgeable customers. You never know who will come in the store! I've had very dynamic conversations with Aaron Downey (Redwings), CFL players, professional bodybuilders (Larry Scott being by far the most influential), great personal trainers, and many more professionals in the industry.

When it comes to particular diets, recipes, routines etc... There is so much out there in terms of info and suggestions. It's really tough to wade through it all. The one thing that you just can't argue with is experience. When someone comes to me with a new routine or new diet, and they are just so sold on it they can't be shaken, my best advice to them is, try it for six weeks, come on back and tell me how it went! And the people who usually see the best results are the people who actually did that. A wise man once said, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.” If you try anything based on this principle, it will become very apparent, very quickly whether or not its bunk or the real deal!
