Boxing Trainer

Growing up, I was obese and lacked all confidence. With great family support, I changed my lifestyle with the sport of boxing and eating properly. At a young age (18), I became a personal trainer to help others also achieve their goals and follow their dreams. While I was helping others with their fitness levels, I was on my road to success with boxing as I captured the provincial championship three consecutive years and most importantly, the Canadian Championship. I went to University and received a Human Kinetics degree specialized in Sport Psychology. But most importantly, working at Popeye's® supplements was an eye-opener for me in terms of nutrition. I learned a lot and it supported what I was taught at school. I am thankful as I am in the health and wellness field being able to help beginners to elite athletes with their physical conditioning, nutrition and the mental aspect. I have been a personal trainer for a total of five years and I enjoy every minute of it!

As a boxer, running, resistance training, heavy bag work, sparring and plyometrics are key elements to success. Popeye's® helped me to keep my immune system strong, build more muscle mass and burn fat. Another important key to boxing is making weight for matches and tournaments, which I did with ease thanks to Popeye's®.

With goal setting, be as specific as you can with your goals and how you're going to achieve those goals as well as the timeline you have. Saying something as "lose weight" is not a great goal because you don't know how to measure progress. Also if you lost a lot of weight, you might gain the weight again because you don't know what to do next. Write down your goals and paste them all over your room to always remind yourself when you feel hopeless or want to cheat in your diet. Seeing is believing!
